What to Expect
Your Journey, Thoughtfully Guided
Yoga therapy is a collaborative process designed around your unique goals, needs, and lived experience. Whether you’re managing pain, recovering from an injury, navigating stress, or simply seeking greater balance, each session is tailored specifically to you.
Initial Assessment
Your journey begins with a comprehensive one-on-one assessment. We'll discuss your health history, lifestyle, movement patterns, current challenges, and wellness goals. This conversation helps us understand the whole person, not just the symptoms, so we can create a plan that supports your long-term well-being.
Personalized Plan
Based on your assessment, you'll receive an individualized plan designed to meet you where you are. Your sessions may include therapeutic movement, breathwork, mindfulness practices, relaxation techniques, and education to help you better understand your body and build sustainable habits.
Ongoing Support
Healing is a process, and your plan will evolve as you do. Together, we'll monitor your progress, adjust practices as needed, and celebrate each step forward. Every session provides a supportive space to ask questions, deepen your understanding, and continue moving toward your goals.
Home Practices
Lasting change happens through consistent, manageable practices. You'll choose simple, personalized exercises and techniques to integrate into your daily life, helping you build awareness, reinforce progress, and continue your wellness journey between sessions.
“Yoga therapy isn’t about achieving the perfect pose. It’s about creating practical, sustainable changes that help you feel better in your body and more supported in your everyday life. Together, we’ll develop tools you can carry with you long after each session ends.”

At The Exhale Studio, we believe you are the expert on your own experience. Our role isn't to fix you, we don't believe you're broken. Instead, we create a space where you can slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with your body's innate wisdom. Through personalized practices, yoga therapy helps you cultivate awareness, discover what your body is asking for, and develop tools that support your well-being.
A yoga class is designed for a group, with everyone moving through a shared experience together.
Yoga therapy is an individualized process centered entirely around you. Every session is shaped by your goals, your experiences, and what your body is communicating in that moment. Rather than working toward the "perfect pose," we explore practices that help you become more aware, move with greater ease, and deepen your connection with yourself.
Private yoga focuses on developing a personalized yoga practice or refining movement and technique.
Yoga therapy goes beyond the physical practice. Together, we explore movement, breath, mindfulness, and self-inquiry as tools for greater awareness. The goal isn't to perform yoga, it's to understand yourself more fully and discover practices that support your unique journey toward balance and well-being.
Talk therapy primarily works through conversation to explore thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors.
Yoga therapy complements that process by inviting you to explore your lived experience through the body. We use mindful movement, breath awareness, relaxation, and meditation to help you notice patterns, cultivate presence, and deepen your connection with yourself.
Many people find that combining talk therapy and yoga therapy creates a more holistic approach to well-being because each supports a different aspect of the human experience.
Every session is a collaborative conversation between you, your body, and your yoga therapist.
Together, we'll explore practices that may include mindful movement, breathwork, meditation, relaxation, guided inquiry, or other yoga-based tools. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. As your awareness grows and your needs evolve, your sessions evolve with you.
The intention is to help you cultivate the awareness and confidence to understand what your body needs and respond with compassion.
This process may be a good fit if you're looking for a more personal, intentional approach to wellness.
Whether you're navigating physical discomfort, stress, life transitions, or simply longing to feel more connected to yourself, yoga therapy offers a supportive space to slow down, become more aware, and discover practices that help you move through life with greater ease and intention.
Yoga therapy has its roots in the ancient traditions of yoga, which have viewed health as a balance of body, mind, and spirit for thousands of years. These teachings emphasize that each person possesses an innate capacity for wholeness and that yoga provides practices to help uncover and support that natural state.
Today, yoga therapy brings those timeless principles together with a contemporary understanding of anatomy, physiology, psychology, and human movement. Rather than treating a diagnosis, yoga therapists work collaboratively with each individual to create practices that foster awareness, resilience, and a deeper connection to themselves.
There is no one-size-fits-all schedule. Together, we'll determine a cadence that best supports your goals, lifestyle, and what you're experiencing.
Many people begin by meeting weekly or every other week to establish a consistent practice and build awareness. As they become more connected to their bodies, integrate what they're learning, and feel more balanced, our time together often begins to naturally space farther apart.
The goal isn't to create dependence. Our goal is to help you cultivate the confidence, awareness, and practices that allow you to navigate life with greater ease, knowing you have the tools to support yourself along the way.
